Storm alerts · Market Intel
Know which of your ZIPs the storm went through, in your next morning email.
When the National Weather Service reports hail, damaging wind, a tornado, flooding or a tropical system in a ZIP you serve, your next 7am alert email says what was reported, how far from the ZIP and on what date, and how many of your past customers are in that ZIP.
Market Intel and Growth send a storm alert in the daily 7am ET alert email when the National Weather Service reports hail, damaging wind, a tornado, flooding or a tropical system in a ZIP the contractor serves. Each alert gives the event, the distance from the ZIP, the date and the source, once per ZIP and event. Market Intel also sends a Monday report on saved searches and permit alerts on saved searches.

How a storm alert becomes a sale
Hail is reported two miles from the center of a ZIP you serve. Your 7am email names the ZIP, the size of the hail and the date, and says 14 of your past customers are there. You call them before lunch to offer an inspection.
A tropical system crosses three of your ZIPs. The next alert email lists all three. You move the crew schedule before the phones start.
A saved search for 'roof permits, my county' comes in the Monday report. Two weeks after the hail, the reroof permits in that ZIP start to post, and you can see who is pulling them.
The weather service tells everyone where the storm went. The email tells you which of your customers live there.
Storms in the ZIPs you serve
We read the National Weather Service's warnings and storm reports and match each one to the ZIPs you serve, by the warning area or by the distance to the ZIP's center. When a hail, wind, tornado, flood or tropical report lands in one of them, it goes into your next 7am alert email: what was reported, how far from the ZIP, on what date, and how many of your past customers are in that ZIP. We report what the weather service recorded. We don't say any property was damaged.
Our view: the storm report is public, but nobody reads it against your own ZIPs and your own past customers.
The Monday report
Every Monday morning, the new permits on each search you've saved since the last report, plus the five companies that filed the most in your area this month. It's the five minutes of reading that tells you where to send the truck.

Questions contractors ask
When does a storm alert arrive?
In the first 7am ET alert email after the weather service's report reaches us. Each storm in each ZIP goes out once. It's a morning email, not a phone siren.
What counts as a storm?
Hail, damaging wind, a tornado, flooding or a tropical system, reported by the National Weather Service in or near a ZIP you serve. The email says how far from the ZIP's center it was.
Does it say which houses were damaged?
No. It says what the weather service reported, where and when. On Market Intel it also counts your past customers in that ZIP. Growth lists those addresses on your dashboard.
Do I get alerts for ZIPs outside my plan area?
Alerts follow the ZIPs you serve and your plan counties. Growth seats can add counties.
Can I keep some alerts and drop others?
Yes. Each email family has its own unsubscribe, so you can keep the storm alerts and drop the Monday report, or the other way round.
Is this a weather forecast?
No. There is no forecast and no model in it. It reports storms the National Weather Service has already recorded.
