Broward County's own permits are in the county's BCS portal, and you don't need an account to search one by permit number or address. But most Broward permits aren't county permits at all. Fort Lauderdale, Pompano Beach, Hollywood, Pembroke Pines, Coral Springs and the other cities each run a building department and a portal of their own.
How to search Broward County building permits
Most Broward permits come from the cities. The county BCS portal mainly covers unincorporated areas.
Open BCS and pick Search for Permit or Search for Address in the left-hand menu.
No account needed to search. Contractors only sign in to apply.
If the address is inside a city, expect the county search to come back thin or empty. Go to that city's portal.
